The first step on any residential roof replacement is to strip the current roofing off. Gone are the days when a new roof was put over the top of older shingles. Most jurisdictions have allowed only one layer of roofing for the last several years. Older houses may have two or even three layers that have to come off. The worst we have seen is seven layers – the first layer being applied in 1953.
Once the roof is stripped and all the roofing nails are either pulled out or hammered in, the roof is sealed with an underlayment. Most jurisdictions in the Denver Metro area require a self-adhering ice and water barrier along the lower edges and in all valleys. The remaining roof face is covered in a synthetic underlayment that provides better protection than the tar paper used years ago.
Once the underlayment is in place, shingles are applied to the roof. Starter shingles are installed along the bottom edge to catch water that seeps between adjoining shingles on the first row. Each successive row of shingles overlaps the previous row and joints are staggered therefore providing a water tight barrier for the roof.
We offer free upgrades to hail-resistant shingles. Further, we can provide premium shingles, metal, or tile roofing materials to enhance the beauty and value of your home.

CONTACT USGutters help funnel water away from your soffets, protecting the eaves, and with appropriate downspouts will help reduce water at your foundation or basement walls.
We offer affordable aluminum and stainless steel gutters in a variety of colors. Copper gutters are also available upon request. In addition, we offer several options on gutter guards to keep leaves, pine needles, or other debris from clogging your gutters and downspouts.

CONTACT USWe start by power-washing and rinsing the exterior of the buildings to be painted. Contrary to popular belief, the goal is not to blast away loose paint, but to gently remove dirt and contaminants. Excessive pressure will damage the siding and force water deep inside the wood grain causing future problems. Without this step there may be areas where the paint does not adhere properly to the siding.
Once the exteriors are dry (usually in a day or two), the most time-consuming part of the process begins. All loose paint and caulk is removed by scraping, brushing, and sanding. With all loose material removed, we will then repair or replace any damaged wood. Small cracks and holes can be filled, larger defects will require new wood or siding.
With all defects in the siding and trim corrected, the house is caulked. Windows and doors are caulked, eaves and soffits are sealed, trim is caulked and any siding with excessive gaps are also sealed. Caulking serves two purposes: first to seal the house from the weather by stopping drafts and potential leaks that can cause problems inside the house, and second, to seal the wood and trim so that unpainted areas on the inside are protected from water to prevent the wood from rotting from the inside out.
The final step is to apply a quality Sherwin-Williams paint or Benjamin Moore stain to beautify and protect your walls and trim. If you need any help picking colors, we are happy to provide you with a free color consultation to ensure you are happy with the end result.

CONTACT USStorm damage along the front range is almost synonymous with hail damage. There is occasionally damage from high winds not associated with hail, but wind damage alone is the exception. When we think hail damage, we usually think of roofs, but hail damage also includes gutters, window screens, and skylights.
Getting the damaged items repaired or replaced can be a nightmare to the uninitiated. It starts with a call to the insurance adjuster, and on more complicated claims ends up being an orchestration between half a dozen trades and subcontractors.
Colorado Home Renewal streamlines this process and manages it for you. We start by providing a no-obligation storm damage assessment. We have seen enough storm damage to have a good understanding of when an insurance company probably will or will not pay for a new roof or other items. We will let you know if there is enough roof damage to get it replaced, if it is in good condition, or if it is borderline and the final assessment must wait on the adjuster to make the call.
The additional pages in this section will talk about the process of getting storm damage repaired, what an insurance settlement looks like, and a few shots of hail damage to roofs and other items

Rick, Heidi, and Jake at Colorado Home Renewal did a fabulous job on all three of our roofs (house and two sheds). We had extensive hail damage and as this was my first ever insurance claim, they were very helpful in helping me understand the process. They were patient as I selected shingle colors and were able to schedule the job in between snow storms up here in the mountains. They are friendly people and easy to do business with. Highly recommend.

Heidi and Rick were easy to work with and really collaborated with us on the remodel of our powder room. Since our home is more than 100 years old there was a lot of fix-up work that needed to be done and Rick kept after it until it was as close to perfect as possible. Heidi went way out of her way to make sure we found just the right materials that were contemporary but in keeping with the Victorian style of our home. I would definitely recommend these folks

Heidi and Rick replaced our roof, skylight, some siding, a window, a gutter, and repainted our deck after a hail storm in 2018. Heidi was honest up-front by indicating that we may not have enough roof damage for a claim, but the adjuster did find enough, and so began our claim. Everything went very smooth and easy, with a few minor incidents (1. broken glass and paint in our trash can: 2. shingles lifting up months after installation), which were both corrected within a day. Even though they are a newer company, they were great to work with and I highly recommend them to others.

I completely disagree with the person the person that posted a 1. A roofing company can become a painting company, can become an "anything" company. Elon Musk has a car company, a rocket company, and a solar energy company! What a completely moronic statement that a roofing company can't get into painting. The previous reviewer thinks he is a professional critic or something, more like an uninformed millennial. I got multiple bids, theirs was reasonable and fair. They left my house 2 hours ago and I will say that I have rarely seen anyone pay attention to detail and be as caring as these guys are. I'm an orthodontist in Greeley and have the most successful practice there. I literally spend hundreds of thousands of dollars training my team on delivering the best quality of care possible, these guys are quality. They didn't leave until everything was done exactly as it should be. I 100% rcommend Colorado Home Renewal.
